EEO POLICY STATEMENT
It is the firm commitment of the City of Chillicothe to provide equal employment opportunity and services to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, physical or mental disability, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, veteran/military status, socioeconomic status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law and by City of Chillicothe workforce policies.
To this end, any behavior, regardless of intent, which creates a hostile work environment or infringes upon the civil rights of another city employee, group of employees or resident of this community is strictly prohibited. Such behavior includes but is not limited to: use of racial and ethnic slurs/epithets, comments or actions of an inappropriate and/or unwelcome sexual nature, inappropriate comments related to an individual’s sexual orientation/gender identification.
Every employee working for the City of Chillicothe, as well as every individual receiving services from the City of Chillicothe, is to be treated with equal respect and dignity without regard to their physical or cultural characteristics and differences. Discrimination and harassment of individuals WILL NOT be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
