On-Demand Service is a point to point service within the city limits, but also including OH-159 to OH-207  interchange and OH-104 to VA Hospital.

The hours are Monday-Friday 6a to 9p and Saturday 10a to 6p.

Pingo Pointers

You are provided with an estimated pickup time when booking your trip. If your trip was booked via the Ride Pingo app, you may check your pickup time in the app, as well as track your bus/van on the live map as your pickup time gets close. Additionally, you will receive an app notification when the driver is approximately five minutes away. Please ensure your notifications for the app are turned on in your phone settings. If your trip was booked via the call center, you will receive a text message or an automated phone call (depending on whether a cell phone or landline number was provided to book the trip). Upon arrival, the driver will wait two minutes before moving on to their next trip.

Pingo will not allow more rides to be scheduled than there are drivers available at that time. If you try to book a trip for a time that is already full, you will receive a message telling you the same. You may try another time to see if that is available. There is no difference in availability scheduling in the app versus the call center. However, if you have any questions, feel free to call.

Trips are booked on a first scheduled, first served basis, regardless of the nature of the trip. Trips may be booked up to one week in advance on the Ride Pingo app. The more in advance the trip is requested, the greater the chance the time requested is available.

Types of Trips

When scheduling a trip, a ride can be requested three ways:

  • Now
    • This is for the soonest available time your requested trip fits into a driver’s schedule. Pingo considers both your pickup and drop-off locations to determine if it fits into a schedule without causing existing trips to be late. If the trip will not fit into any available driver’s schedule within a pickup time of one hour from the time requested, the trip will not be scheduled, and no pickup time will be provided.
  • Depart By
    • This should be used when there is not a set time to arrive at the destination. This allows Pingo to look at a broader range of pickup times to attempt to fit the trip into a driver’s schedule. Note this option will adjust the pickup time from the requested depart by time based on driver availability. If the trip will not fit into any available driver’s schedule within a reasonable time from the time requested, the trip will not be scheduled, and no pickup time will be provided.
  • Arrive By
    • It is recommended to book an “Arrive By” trip for anything time sensitive such as work or medical appointments so you will not be scheduled to arrive at your destination later than you need to be there. It is good practice to schedule your “Arrive By” time 10-15 minutes before the time you need to arrive. Keep in mind an “Arrive By” may get you to your destination earlier than your requested time if that is all that is available at the time of scheduling. If the trip will not fit into any available driver’s schedule within a reasonable time from the time requested, the trip will not be scheduled, and no pickup time will be provided.
