Mayor Luke Feeney

First elected Mayor in November of 2015, Luke is serving his third term as Mayor of the City of Chillicothe. Luke previously served as the City Auditor from 2013 through 2015. Luke has worked to improve Chillicothe’s financial stability and has emphasized excellence in the delivery of services and the quality of life in Chillicothe.

Luke’s team has leveraged local tax dollars to bring millions of dollars in grant funding and outside resources to the community. Most recently, Luke and his team, working with the Ross County Commissioners, secured a $34 million grant towards renovations and new construction projects throughout and surrounding Yoctangee Park.

Notable accomplishments during his three terms include re-opening two shuttered fire stations; the complete reimagining of the transit system, which now offers on-demand services and a trolley for the community and visitors; the adoption of the city’s first comprehensive plan since the 1940s; a curbside recycling program; Chillicothe’s first dog park; and the $60 million reconstruction of the obsolete wastewater treatment plant, which broke ground in 2023.

Luke is proud to call Chillicothe home. After graduating from Ohio University, he attended law school at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and moved to Chillicothe to work for Southeastern Ohio Legal Services in 2006. He and his wife Stacy live in historic downtown with
their two children, and they are all excited to be a part of Chillicothe’s revitalization.

He was a speaker at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, is a 2018 alumnus of the Glenn College Public Leadership Academy, is an alumnus of the 2020 class of the Bloomberg Harvard Leadership Initiative and was a McCloy Fellow during the 2017 Leadership Mission in Germany. He serves on the board of directors of the Ohio Municipal League, the Greater Ohio Policy Center, and South-Central Ohio Big Brothers Big Sisters. He previously served on the boards of Hopewell Health Centers, United Way of Ross County, and the Ross County Community Action Commission.
